Iran reveals data on power generation of Bandar Abbas TPP

Iran’s Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) generated 3.12 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), Head of the Bandar Abbas TPP Mehdi Moradi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

Of this volume, 3.08 billion kilowatt-hours were generated by steam units, while 40.3 million kilowatt-hours - by gas units, according to Moradi.

The official also added that the power plant generated about 554 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the 5th month (July 23 through August 22, 2022) alone.

The Bandar Abbas TPP is one of the main thermal power plants in Iran. The power generation capacity of this power plant is 1,330 megawatt-hours. The power plant has 4 steam units, with each unit's generation capacity of 320-megawatt-hours, and 2 gas units, with a generation capacity of 25 megawatt-hours each.
