ElGreen energy company reveals volume of electricity imported by Georgia

ElGreen energy company has published electricity imports tariffs for April 2021, Trend reports via Georgian media.

ElGreen company carries out trans-frontier electricity trade operations and transits electricity from Azerbaijan to Turkey. Starting 2015, the company supplies cheap electricity to Georgia too.

In April 2021, Georgia’s electricity imports constituted 259.6 million kw/h, including 173.45 million kw/h was imported from Russia, 36.2 million kw/h - from Azerbaijan, and 50.1 million kw/h - from Turkey.

ElGreen supplied 23.1 million kw/h of 36.2 million kw/h to the Electricity System Commercial Operator (ESCO) at 3.9 cents at night, 3.9 cents on weekends, 6.9 cents during the day, while direct agreements were signed with consumers on a supply of 13.1 million kw/h.

“Azerbaijani electricity is cheaper compared to import from Turkey and Russia,” said Zurab Noghaideli, member of ElGreen energy company’s supervisory board.
