Kazakhstan reveals paper trade turnover for 2021

The turnover of paper and cardboard in Kazakhstan in 2021 grew, Trend reports via the press service of the Ministry of Trade and Integration.

According to the ministry, this figure amounted to $562.6 million, up by 17.8 percent compared to 2020.

Export of products last year increased by 81.3 percent, equaling $36.2 million. The export growth is due to an increase in the supply of such goods as uncoated paper and cardboard, cigarette paper, toilet paper, handkerchiefs, napkins and similar products, paper, cardboard, cellulose fiber wadding, paper, uncoated cardboard for graphic purposes, coated paper and cardboard.

At the same time, the export of such goods as containers made of paper and cardboard, wallpaper and similar wall coverings, stationery made of paper and cardboard, uncoated kraft paper and kraft cardboard, multilayer paper and cardboard lowered.

Most of the goods were exported to Russia ($16.3 million), Uzbekistan ($11.5 million) and Kyrgyzstan ($6.3 million).

Imports of paper and cardboard to Kazakhstan in 2021 increased by 15 percent and amounted to $526.3 million.

Over the past year, the import of wallpaper and similar wall coverings, containers made of paper and cardboard and paper, uncoated cardboard for graphic purposes, coated paper and cardboard, toilet paper, handkerchiefs, napkins and similar products increased.

Import deliveries of newsprint paper, stationery made of paper and cardboard, cigarette paper, carbon paper decreased.

The main importers were Russia ($309.2 million), China ($55.7 million) and Turkey ($40.3 million).
