As part of the visit of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan with residence in Rome, Otabek Akbarov, a meeting was held in Athens with the Minister of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs of Greece Niki Kerameos, UzA reports.
At the meeting, the Greek side was informed about the reforms in the educational system of Uzbekistan, the great attention paid by the leadership of the country to educate a healthy and comprehensively developed young generation.
Detailed information was also provided on the activities of presidential schools, the development of universities and secondary special education institutions. In this context, interest was expressed in establishing and developing inter-university cooperation, including the creation of joint universities and the opening of branches of Greek universities in the country.
Minister Niki Kerameos noted that Greece received 20 million euros from the European Union this year to develop partnerships with foreign universities. In this regard, she supported the proposal of Uzbekistan to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in education.
