The volume of loans issued in the regions of Azerbaijan amounted to 4.17 billion manat ($2.45 billion) as of August 1, 2022, Trend reports via the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
This is the highest figure ever recorded by the CBA.
Lending in the regions of Azerbaijan increased by 30 percent on annual basis.
The Absheron-Khizi economic region ranked first in terms of lending with a loan portfolio of 715.4 million manat ($420.8 million), followed by the Ganja-Dashkasan (557.1 million manat or $327.7 million) and Lankaran-Astara (402.8 million manat or $236.9 million) economic regions.
The top five included the Central Aran (365.6 million manat or $215 million) and Gazakh-Tovuz (314.1 million manat or $184.7 million) economic regions.
As of August 1 this year, 14.3 billion manat ($8.4 billion) of the total lending accounted for Baku.
