Iran records increase in value of non-oil exports to SCO member states

Iran's non-oil exports to the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) amounted to 17.4 million tons worth $9.08 billion, during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2022), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

According to the official, the export increased by 10 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“Within 5 months, Iran exported goods worth $6.72 billion to China, worth $729 million to India, worth $641 million to Afghanistan, worth $475 million to Pakistan, worth $291 million to Russia, and worth $88 million to Uzbekistan,” he said.

Latifi also added that Iran exported goods worth $61.2 million to Kazakhstan, worth $45.6 million to Tajikistan, worth $18.4 million to Kyrgyzstan, worth $7.2 million to Belarus and worth $156,000 to Mongolia in 5 months.

“In total, Iran's foreign trade turnover with the mentioned 11 member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization for the first five months of the current Iranian year amounted to 21.4 million tons worth over $17 billion, which is an increase of 31 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the spokesman noted.
