Iran looks to expand export via Shanghai Cooperation Organization

Iran’s membership in Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will expand
export and boost the economy, said a member of parliament’s Economic Commission Mohammad Safaei Daloui, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Iran can improve economic relations with the SCO member states and could export oil products, he said adding that the country is able to transit goods from Bandar Abbas Port to Central Asia.

Daloui underlined that Iran’s permanent membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization could create four million jobs in the country.

Iran’s accession to the permanent membership of the SCO was officially approved in 2021 at the 22nd Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) summit. It indicated Iran’s willingness to pursue stronger relations with China and Russia, the organization’s two most powerful members.
