Volume of loans issued in Azerbaijan’s Baku and regions unveiled

The volume of loans issued in Azerbaijan’s capital - Baku and regions increased by 3.4 billion manat ($2 billion) as of August 31, 2022, or 22.57 percent compared to the same period last year (from 15.2 billion manat or $8.9 billion to 18.6 billion manat or $10.9 billion), Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to CBA, loans worth 14.3 billion manat ($841.1 million) were issued in Baku during this period, which is 3.36 times higher than in the regions.

Loans in national currency in Baku accounted for 10.3 billion manat ($6 billion, 71.83 percent of total lending in Baku).

The average annual interest rate on loans in the country amounted to 12.22 percent, and in Baku - 10.54 percent.
