Kyrgyzcenterproduct - exporter of agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan has entered new markets with support from the US agency for international development (USAID), Trend reports citing the agency.
The USAID said Kyrgyzcenterproduct received modern vegetable drying equipment worth $93,900 through USAID’s Innovation Facility, a special fund that supported innovations to increase exports from Central Asia, which enabled the company to dry carrots, beetroots, onions, bell peppers, pumpkins and other vegetables and fruits.
"This helped Kyrgyz company to expand to other markets. In early 2020, Kyrgyzcenterproduct visited the Gulfood Fair in Dubai, UAE. During the visit sponsored by USAID, he met with potential buyers and signed an export contract worth $100,000," the message said.
In 2021, Kyrgyzcenterproduct participated at the FoodExpo Qazaqstan, at USAID’s ‘Taste of Central Asia’ stand which showcased Kyrgyz horticulture products. The company’s products were a success, a $500,000 contract with a Kazakhstan-based retail chain and cooperation agreements with a number of other big companies were signed.
This assistance was provided under USAID’s Trade Central Asia activity. The project's goal is to improve regional trade connectivity to accelerate economic growth and increase economic opportunities in Central Asia.
