The largest share of loans in Azerbaijan fell on households as early May 2021, amounting to 47 percent, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the bulletin, the volume of issued loans in the household sector in the reporting period grew by 5.1 percent, or 340.5 million manat ($200.3 million) compared to the same period of 2020 and amounted to 7 billion manat ($4.1 billion).
Loans in trade and services rose by 4.2 percent, or 103.9 million manat ($61.1 million) year on year - up to over 2.5 billion manat ($1.47 billion). Their share in the total volume of lending in this sector amounted to 17.1 percent, the bulletin said.
The loans in the field of transport and communications during the reporting period amounted to 871 million manat ($512.3 million), which is equal to 5.8 percent of the total amount of loans in the real sector.
Over the year, this figure decreased by 230.5 million manat ($135.6 million). In the field of industry and production, on annual basis, there was a decrease in lending by 222.9 million manat ($131.1 million) or 19.6 percent. Lending to this sector amounted to 914.8 million manat ($538.1 million).
