The total value of deposits in Azerbaijani banks exceeded 24.2 billion manat ($14.2 billion) as of early May 2021, which is 3.6 percent more compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing a report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the report, the deposits of non-financial organizations increased by 5.5 percent on annual basis, totaling over 13.9 billion manat ($8.17 billion).
Besides, deposits of individuals grew by 7.7 percent over the year - to 8.35 billion manat ($4.9 billion).
During the reporting period, deposits in foreign currency amounted to 12.9 billion manat ($7.6 billion), decreasing by 10.1 percent on annual basis. Deposits in national currency increased by 25.6 percent year on year - up to 11.25 billion manat ($6.62 billion), added the report.
