The long-term occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territory by Armenia and the termination of this occupation as a result of the 44-day Armenia-Azerbaijan Karabakh war was discussed at a meeting with Polish Foreign Minister and OSCE Chairman-in-Office Zbigniew Rau, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a press conference, Trend reports.
Bayramov said that the meeting was held on the Day of the Genocide of Azerbaijanis - March 31.
“During the genocide, Armenia killed tens of thousands of Azerbaijanis because of their ethnicity,” the minister said.
The minister said that the issue of restoring the occupied Azerbaijani territories and the return of Azerbaijanis to their native lands was discussed at the meeting.
“The Polish companies’ participation in the restoration work is desirable and this issue was also raised at today's meeting,” Bayramov added.
