Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Special Representative of Russian President on International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy on September 14, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the humanitarian and cultural areas of the agenda of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, discussed the implementation of relevant measures on a bilateral and regional basis.
Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the interlocutor about the tension in the region, which arose as a result of the provocations of Armenia. He noted Azerbaijan's unilateral proposal to Armenia for a humanitarian ceasefire, adding that the aggravation and destabilization of the situation is not in Azerbaijan's interests.
Mikhail Shvydkoy expressed hope that the clashes would stop. He also noted that he is always ready to support the development of cooperation in the humanitarian and cultural spheres, the creation of confidence-building measures.
