KazMunayGas remains a reliable oil supplier for Romania in times of geopolitical uncertainty in Europe, Magzum Mirzagaliyev, KazMunayGas CEO, said, Trend reports, citing the press service of the company.
The statement was made in the framework of the visit of the KGM CEO to Romania.
He also added that the company is willing to increase the efficiency of its foreign assets.
Mirzagaliyev also visited the production facilities and the control center of the "Petromidia" oil refinery and the "Rompetrol" gas stations, both controlled by "KazMunayGas International".
Additionally, the KMG CEO inspected the construction of "COGEN" combined heat and power plant (CHP), which will enable the production of energy and heat for the KazMunayGas International internal consumption.
The construction of the CHP is being implemented in the framework of a Kazakh-Romanian Investment Fund, created as a part of a Memorandum of Understanding signed by both countries in 2013.
KMG International’s priority is oil refining at refineries in Romania, as well as wholesale and retail sales of petroleum products in Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, and Moldova. Primary processing of raw materials is carried out by KMGI's own refinery - Petromidia, and secondary processing - by the Vega refinery.
